The Student Council (StuRa), the legislative body of the student representation of Heidelberg University, is composed of delegated representatives of the students in a subject and elected representatives of electoral tickets. All students of the University of Heidelberg are entitled to speak in and make petitions to the StuRa.
The StuRa decides on political positions, the budget and financial petitions as well as statutes and regulations. It elects the officials of the VS (such as Referent*innen (officers) and members in committees and commissions) and sends or makes proposals for representatives in committees of the university and the Studierendenwerk.

The Speakers prepare the session, chair it, receive motions, answer questions about the session and documents the resolutions and decisions.

The StuRa meets publicly every 14 days during the lecture period, Tuesdays at 7 p.m., pandemic conditions permitting. And that in presence, in the so-called “Neuer Hörsaal Physik” (Albert-Ueberle-Straße 7).

- after the meeting: the Speakers finalize the minutes, puts them online and waits for new motions – the procedure starts again.

Motions
must be submitted in writing (or E-Mail) to theSpeakers of the StuRa at least six days before a StuRa meeting. The forms will help you not to forget any information. Application deadlines also apply to reports.

- Financial requests from groups can only be made once per semester. Dates in summer semester 2023: 20.06. (1st reading) and 04.07. (2nd Reading). Deadline: June 13, 2023, (23:59)

To avoid formatting issues, files in PDF format will be disregarded when preparing the documents. Therefore, please submit your applications in formats such as .doc(x), .odt, etc.
Motion consultation
Applications should be discussed in advance with the relevant officers, commissions and committees or working groups. In this way, results from previous discussions and ongoing work within the VS can already be taken into account during the motion process and unnecessary discussions can be avoided. You can find information about this in the application forms.
Proposals are usually presented in the StuRa in one meeting and voted in the following one. Take this into account in your planning. If other bodies are responsible for your application, the Speakers will forward your motions to them.
