No updated VRN imprint? Certificate of enrollment is sufficient!

Tomorrow, Saturday, the new semester begins. However, due to technical problems on the part of Heidelberg University, it will unfortunately not be possible for all students to immediately present an updated student ID card, which will undoubtedly legitimize the use of the evening/weekend regulation in the summer semester 2023 as well. An estimated 5000 students are affected by this issue.

Of course, this should still not be a reason for students to forego using public transportation or to buy a ticket as a substitute. As the VRN expressly confirmed to us once again (and also officially instructed in the mail shown here, which was sent to all transport companies), a current certificate of enrollment is completely sufficient. This proof is sufficient to allow you to use public transport in the entire VRN area (minus the Western Palatinate) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weekdays and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

If, contrary to expectations, you still have or have already had problems with the driving and control personnel: Contact our traffic department immediately! It will endeavor to cancel any penalty notices. Please do this as soon as possible, as it will be far more stressful once the one-week appeal period has expired. This is possible by sending an e-mail to [verkehrsreferat@stura .uni-heidelberg.de].
